A life on the Bahamas in the Caribbean, is the dream of many people. Overgrown pigs have such a luck. They live on “Pig Iceland” of a small unoccupied island which belongs to the “Exuma” Cays.
They are the attraction for tourists on the Bahamas because everybody would like to see the swimming pigs. Boringly it never becomes to these pigs.
Food exists galore. They may be just happy on Exuma.
Pigs on an island in the Caribbean live, can also swim of course and they do this passionately with pleasure.
They have adapted themselves perfectly and live in complete harmony on her island paradise. They are excellent swimmers. Even the small piglets feel in the water like at home and also swim with pleasure with people together.
Why, nobody knows exactly. The inhabitants believe the clear water if the reason is for it, why they swim so with pleasure. They can also dig, according to desire and mood. On Pig Iceland pigs live at every age, small piglets and older pigs whose are quite 9 years old.
About that like the pigs on this island came there are different stories and legends. One says that the pigs were set down in a big attack by a group of sailors because they wanted to come back around them to eat. However, the sailors have never returned.
Another theory says, the pigs were unloaded by driving past ships, around later than they returned again to survive.
Another legend says that it the pigs have got after a wreck to swim to the coast. While another states that the pigs of a nearby islet have escaped. Others say that the pigs were a part of a commercial draught to draw tourists.
Today the pigs are fed by local and tourists.
On the unoccupied island, there is a freshwater spring. Except the pigs a few more straying cats and goats live there.
Today the island is known as a Pig Iceland or Big-Dur Cay. The island is protected by a row of neighbouring islands, before waves and tropical storms.

More than 360 islands with a length of (209 km) all together belong to the island chain (Cays). Sailings, diving, coral reefs and caves to explore.
