A group of Carabinieros patrolled after the avalanche in Salgar (Antioquia), Columbien, in the Liboriana gulch, in search of survivors and victims when they saw doing a dog in the water.
When the policemen observed that the dog was weak and threatened to drown in the tearing river, they decided on a reckless and valiant rescue operation.
One of the policemen jumped in the water saved the dog, brought him in country and gave him mouth to mouth artificial respiration.
The other Carabinieros from Salgar (Antioquia) in Columbien support the rescue of the dog.
The dog was weak and mud was exhausted itself and could release itself from the water while, stones and dirt did not consider, was carried away with the strong current and threatened to drown.
Without hesitating one of the policemen reacted and jumped after increase to attempts in the tearing waters, until the dog was in security. The dog was given artificial respiration immediately and received, from the especially qualified policemen, a drip with liquid to stabilise him. Afterwards the policemen brought the dog in the Columbia niche to city of Salgar (Antioquia).
The policeman Helbert Rivera, that the dog saved gave him the name Prince. If the owner of Prince did not contact, he will ask his superior for permission to be allowed to keep the dog, maybe he is able to do him as a rescue dog for his unity to train.
Prince has recovered and it goes well to him, in the meantime, with his new owner Helbert Rivera.
At the end of an avalanche disaster in Columbien with which countless people and animals died this story comes to a good end.
Helbert Rivera his colleagues and Prince, are celebrated in Columbien as heroes. They are hope and bright spot after a dreadful natural disaster.
